How to publish a news item
A beginner's guide to publishing table tennis news-items on this web-site
Any registered site-member may contribute a relevant table tennis news-items to this site. Becoming a registered site-member is a free and very straightforward process, click on the join link at the top of the screen.
First use
Prior to the first occasion (only) it will be necessary to tell your computer that you wish to make things easy by using a content-editor called Kupu. The process for doing this is as follows;
- Log in
- Choose My Preferences
- Choose Personal Preferences
- Click the button next to Epoz
- Click Save
Subsequent use
Then, whenever you want to enter a news item, proceed as follows:
- Log in
- Choose My Folder
- Click on Add New Item
- Click on AT News Item
- Enter a Short Name (as per instructions on screen)
- Enter your Headline in the appropriate box
- Enter your Lead Statement in the next box
- Enter your Main Text in the final box (just like using a word-processor)
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save
Your new item will then be included on your list of items on your My Folder page, and will be shown as Pending. At this stage it will only be visible to you.
Submitting articles for publication
To submit the article to the moderator, for approval for publication:
- Tick the box on the LHS of your title (in the list on the My Folder page)
- Click Change State
- Use the drop-down lists to set the effective date to today and effective time to now.
- Click the Submit button
- Click Save
Your news-item will then wait in a queue for the moderator's approval before it's title appears in the news box on the home page.
